Today is the Birthday anniversary of the Director Thero. Kids in NCEF Model Kindergarten and Children in NCEF Buddhist College know it. Each child made a Birthday wish and he or she likes it in a creative manner to express happiness and offered it to the Thero, in the little ceremony held for it. This ceremony was held to reprove the educational and moral levels.

The following programs were organised by the NCEF Buddhist College, NCEF Model Kindergarten, Teacher Training Institute and the Rotary club Kolonnawa to mark the 56th Birthday of the Director Thero of National Children’s Educational Foundation, which falls on 21.05.2012.
A blood donation campaign
A Maha Sangika Dana (Alms Givig offered to 18 venerable Theros on 20th noon)
Donation of essential items (cleaning kits, banquets, books etc) to resident patient children in children’s resident at national cancer hospital Maharagama

Ven. Abbot Wei Wu Thero and team from Pinang Visited NCEF Complex

Most Ven. Wei Wu from Than Hsiang temple and International Buddhist College in Malaysia with a team of clergy educationists visited National Children’s Educational Foundation on 07.05.2012 to observe the system of education in NCEF.
After lighting oil lamp short welcoming function started. NCEF Buddhist College dancing team presented a dance. After the director thero’s welcomes speech Most Ven. Wei Wu. Spoke. Most Ven. Wei Wu in his speech mentioned that being respectful for adults, especially for teachers is one of the best resolutions for present conflicting situations in education. Finally the team went to observe NCEF Buddhist College and NCEF Model Kindergarten.

Jaffna tour 2012

The Rotary club of Kolonnawa organised a trip to Jaffna and Mulativu, with the consultancy of Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero of National Children’s Educational Foundation. The rotary members visited the Mulativu area, where the terrorist leader Prabakaran held his orders.

Workshop for ECCD officers Western Province

Accordions to his Excellency the president concept, today the Presidential advisor for early child development and care Ven. Dr.Bandagiriye somawansa Thero entered into an island wide series at workshop for early child supervisory officers in all provincial councils. The first program held today at NCEF starting from 9.00 am till 4.45 pm. A program from mother Sri Lanka trust also held. Among the guests were the founder and mother Sri Lanka trust Mrs. J. Kuruppu, the Director of child secretariat Mr. Jayantha Peiris the Director of western province early child development Mr. Wimal Sarathchandra and officers from ministry and education. Supervisory officers from province participated for this program.

Donating a electric wheel chair to an invalid child through National Child Information Centre of NCEF

Rotary club of Yokohama north in Japan donated a wheel chair (Battery operated) for the use of an invalid girl of a remote area of Welimada, central province of Sri Lanka, on the request of the National Child Information Centre of NCEF with collaboration of R. C. Kolonnawa.

Oil Treating Ceremony in Sinhala and Tamil New Year 2012

The Oil Treating Ceremony held at the Mahindaramaya of National Children’s Educational Foundation at the auspicious time of the 2012 Sinhala and Tamil New Year, completed successfully with the cooperation of Rotary club of Kolonnawa and teachers, children and parents of NCEF Buddhist College.

The kids of Tsukiage Kindergarten arranged a welcome ceremony for Ms. Yuki Tosa, the daughter of the donor Rev. Kogyo Tosa. After the lighting of oil lamps by the director Thero the kids presented a dance. Ms. Yuki Tosa thanked the kids.

A special asheervada pooja

A special asheervada pooja was held for the blessings of His Excellency the President, Hon. Secretary for defence, defence forces, and for whole the country, in view of the external circumstances the country faces now. This was held with the cooperation and participation of students teachers and some of the parents of NCEF Buddhist College and Kindergarten.
This program was organised Countrywide through provincial educational units of early child development and primary Education by the Presidential Advisor Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero.
