A Panel Theatre Educational Program on early & primary child education was performed by Japanese Educationists in Anuradhapura Swarnapali Balika Maha Vidyalaya Seminar Hall in Anuradhapura town, for the kindergarten and primary teachers of the North Central Province. This was organized by the Ministry of Education of the North Central Province on the instructions of the Ven. Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero. More than 800 Kindergarten and primary teachers were participated for this program.

A special lecture was delivered to the parents and teachers of NCEF Buddhist College and NCEF Model Kindergarten and Trainees of the NCEF Pre-School Teacher Training Institute by Professor Sumanadasa Galmangoda of the University of Kelaniya on the Topic,z Education and living of the people in association with the Teachings of the Buddhism.Z .

Peace and conflict resolution project – Third group
The part III of the Program of Mutual Friendship and Awareness Between the Children of North and South, finished in the morning of 28th January 2012 with the departure of the Group of 110 children to Jaffna from NCEF Premises.They participated various programs during their stay from 25th in the National Children’s Educational Foundation Premises. The special Item this time was the donation of 80 pairs of shoes among children with the sponsor ship of Battaramulla Rotary Club. This whole program was done with the coordination of the Sri Lanka Army, Jaffna District, and with subsidizing of Rotary District 3220. This program has been organized by the NCEF.

Under the new vision of Early Childhood Development and Primary Education According to The Mahinda Chintana Concept, Ven.Dr. Bandagiriye Somawansa Thero held a huge Seminar and a Workshop for the Pre School and Primary School Teachers with the participation of the Ministry of Education Sabaragamuwa Province. More than 700 pre-school and Primary school teachers gathered at the Provincial Secretariat for this program.

The Annual Maha Pirith Ceremony and Maha Dana of the NCEF Buddhist College and Model Kindergarten was held on 14th January 2012, at the beginning of the new year, with the participation of parents, teachers and children. Pirith chanting was held in the especially prepared and decorated pavilion in the auditorium. More than 50 Numbers of theros participated in the maha dana (Alms giving- Especially prepared food for the priests) ceremony.
The first meeting of the Special Nayake Committee of Sri Lanka Ramagngna Maha Sect
held at the teacher training institute lecture hall, at the Head Quarters of National Children’s Educational Foundation. 20 Venerable mahanayakes participated in this meeting.
